The SONG is the core of the music culture and gives a voice to the creativity and the storytelling of the artist. Without the SONG, there is no music. Once the SONG is written it is brought to life by performers telling the story according to their personality. There might be an overlap in one person of the songwriter and the singer/performer.

The original songs the Grund Club is gathering in its SONG BOOK are a reflection of the Luxembourg culture. Music not only connects people across cultures, time, and space but also can help individuals connect to a sense of self-in-place.

Music, through songs, can reflect memories, perceptions, and attitudes of the local community and can help to understand the Luxembourg society. A song can portray the society in which the composer belongs and can help to connect to other persons using a form of entertainment and distraction.

Therefore the Grund Club works to create a Luxembourg based “grassroots musical movement”, where the SONG is key.

To share the SONG it has to be performed, either by the songwriter or a performer. The Grund Club provides the platforms to identify new performance talents and to share the music on stage in a live format. To preserve the memory of the performances and to share them with a larger public the Association produces audio-video content on a regular basis.
